Chosen and Set Apart

My, my, my, what a Word, what a Word! Jesus showed up as Pastor Steven delivered a Word in season to the congregants of 1st Triumphant Church of God.  Referencing Jeremiah 1:1-10, Pastor said, " There are two types of people in the house of the Lord, "settled" and "struggling to become." When you settle, you will feel unqualified, not good enough and you rule yourself out. You feel like you've lost your passion.  But how long will you do what you need to do and not what you're meant to do? He said, "Don't get comfortable. When God shows you what He has for you, you will feel inadequate.  But God said I know you and I put everything in you to do this. There is more to life than just this!

God is always trying to push us outside our comfort zone.  If God doesn't get a "Yes" from you, He will remove all of your safety blankets to get you to say Yes!  Pastor explained that Jeremiah came from a family full of priests and was reluctant to say Yes, but He can still shape reverence surrounded by rebellion. In order to bring redemption, God just needs one Yes.  He can do much with one Yes."

Jeremiah 1:5-7 says, "“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you came out from the womb I consecrated you; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Look, I do not know how to speak, for I am a youth.” But Yahweh said to me, “You must not say, ‘I am a youth,’ for to whomever I send you, you will go, and whatever I command you, you will speak.” Jer 1 (LEB)

Pastor Steven said when God tells you to move, just move.  "Don't wait for the miraculous. When you are chosen, don't get high and mighty and ask God to stoop to your level," he continued.  He said, "sometimes God just wants you to change your position. Obedience and faith in God is part of your worship. Your blessings can be locked up because of your reluctance to move. God's Word will fill your voids.  His Word will make you bolder, richer and speak life over yourself.  He will do amazing things if you let Him.”

Here are some questions to ponder:

Have you ever felt like you’ve settled for something in your life?
Did you ever feel like you were struggling to get to a particular place but can’t seem to open than door?
What is God saying to you about pressing forward?
What can you change today to change your thinking or your position?
After you ask God what His will is for your life, write down what you hear and begin to take one step at a time.
